Grants Pass, OR - 3S8
Airport last visited April 6, 2022
The Grants Pass airport is a convenient fueling and rest stop if traveling from the Puget Sound to California. Although in a mountainous area, the field elevation is only 1126 feet, but density altitudes can climb quickly in summer heat. Arriving from the north, you will have to stay fairly high due to terrain before descending to the 2126 ft pattern altitude, with standard left patterns on both runways 13 and 31. Arriving from the south, be alert for hills on either side of the final approach course if shooting a straight-in from the I-5 valley area.
Transient parking is available through the FBO, Pacific Aviation NW, on the west side of the field. No charge for short term transient parking. Self service fuel is conveniently available on the ramp in front of the FBO office, and self serve gas prices are usually a bit lower than nearby Medford or Roseburg.
A courtesy car is listed as available from the local FBO, Pacific Aviation NW.
We've only eaten our bag lunches at the convenient lounge area at Pacific Aviation NW.
We've only used Grants Pass for refueling and lunch, so no lodging recommendations yet.
