Arriving from the north, transit of LAX is a breeze using the Special Flight Rules corridor. General aviation traffic usually lands on 26L. From the west and south, expect to be cleared to Signal Hill for a left downwind to runway 26L. Pattern altitude is 1000 feet.

Contact Clearance Delivery, even before VFR flights, before contacting Ground for taxi. For Rwy 26L ops and taxiing from Atlantic Aviation, expect to be offered a run-up in the convenient large run-up area adjacent to taxiway Juliet, then taxi to the hold line for 26L at Delta or 30 at Delta 4.

Transient parking and fuel are available from Atlantic Aviation and Signature. As of Aug 2025, Atlantic charges $54/night for parking, with a one-time $10 security fee, plus a $57 facility fee, waived with an 11-gallon fuel purchase. Unfortunately for local excursions from Long Beach, Atlantic charges the facility fee per arrival, not over the entire trip. Atlantic Aviation parking is north of runway 26L via taxiways Juliet 4, Juliet, Echo, Echo 1. Service and support from Atlantic, other than the extra fees, was excellent in July 2023. Signature is located south of runway 26L, and charges $30/night for parking, a one-time $8 infrastructure fee, plus a $30 handling fee, waived with a 10-gallon fuel purchase. Multiple local trips per stay can be negotiated on additional handling fees.
